USS Outta Time

USS Outta Time, a Starfleet Temporal Division ship

The USS Outta Time is a Paladin-class ship attached to Starfleet's Temporal Division, entrusted to T'Met and destined to be shared with Agnes Rodriguez.

Still under construction at the end of Book I, it marks less a conclusion than a new beginning: an unfinished ship for a crew that has also just been torn out of its era.

Profile

Outta Time belongs to a generation of ships Agnes' crew discovers after arriving in the Prime Timeline. Unlike the Mercator and the Enterprise, it does not come from NATO's Special Fleet, but from a 26th-century Starfleet capable of intervening in temporal crises.

Its Paladin class places it among Starfleet's advanced craft, designed for missions where power, autonomy, and precision must coexist. That classification remains secondary, however, compared with its actual condition: Outta Time is still being completed when Agnes and Angie come aboard.

It does not yet have its own past in the story, but it already gathers the survivors, the traces of the Schak'Irra Timeline, Lingua, T'Met, Tarsi, and the future mission against Quihoui.

After Episode 132 - New Authority

Read after Book I - Episode 132.

Even before Outta Time appears, the ground is prepared by Quihoui's removal and the appointment of Admiral Censsukr' as head of the Temporal Division. T'Met and Tarsi are decorated, then tasked with helping the 21st-century survivors integrate into their new environment.

This decision changes their status. T'Met is no longer merely a survivor Quihoui tried to neutralize: she becomes an active captain again. Since her younger version keeps command of the VSS Schak'Irra, Outta Time gives her a new ship without reopening that already occupied position.

Tarsi, cleared of wrongdoing, can act openly again. Outta Time is born in this context of institutional repair.

After Episodes 133 and 134 - Learning the Future

Read after Book I - Episode 134.

The survivors of the Enterprise become citizens of the United Federation of Planets, but that citizenship does not solve everything. Agnes and Angie remain officers from a vanished world, still unable to fully understand the 26th century in which they have landed.

The orbital tour, Charles Tucker III Spacedock, and the Enterprise-J give the future its scale. They also show that Agnes and Angie have not simply arrived in a refuge: they are entering an era where the Temporal Cold War, Procyon V, and Starfleet decisions continue to shape history.

After Episode 135 - Orbital Shipyard

Read after Book I - Episode 135.

Agnes and Angie discover Outta Time in an isolated orbital shipyard. The ship is still unfinished: new bridges, incomplete corridors, waiting consoles, and an already functional flight deck. This first visit places the craft between two states: already habitable, but not yet ready to set out.

Lingua appears there in a complete humanoid holographic form. Thanks to the holo-projectors and cutting-edge equipment aboard the ship, she regains a much greater freedom of expression than in the Enterprise's provisional Cocoon. The ship therefore becomes her new operational body, able to give her a visible presence in the corridors and on the flight deck.

The scene also brings back two major emotional objects: Herbie 53, saved from the destruction ordered by Quihoui, and Money Penny, recovered after its breakdown on the Golden Gate and restored by Lingua. Outta Time does not merely welcome a crew: it also gathers their material traces.

After Episode 136 - Assigned Mission

Read after Book I - Episode 136.

On the still freshly installed bridge, Agnes and Angie meet Admiral Censsukr'. The new head of the Temporal Division reveals that the Schak'Irra thread has not disappeared entirely: imprints persist around Earth and the Moon.

With the Temporal Division fleet mobilized toward Procyon V, Censsukr' cannot detach a ship to pursue Quihoui. Outta Time therefore receives its purpose: to become the center of a more discreet mission, entrusted to those who know the Schak'Irra Timeline best.

Agnes agrees to officially join Starfleet's Temporal Division, on the condition that her crew keep their ranks. Outta Time then becomes the third major ship in her journey, but also the first that does not come from her world of origin.

Technical File

The Paladin class identifies Outta Time as an advanced Starfleet craft, designed for long-range missions, sensitive interventions, and situations where temporal anomalies must be handled directly.

The elements confirmed by the story remain deliberately more concrete. Outta Time has a flight deck, advanced holographic systems, a mess equipped with a synthesizer, a bridge still being installed, and sufficient capabilities to host Lingua as a complete holographic presence.

At the end of Book I, the ship is not yet complete. That incompleteness matters: Outta Time is not presented as a miracle ready to solve everything, but as a tool in preparation, entrusted to a crew that must itself learn the rules of its new century.

Overall Portrait

Outta Time is the ship of recommencement. The Mercator carried the evacuation, the Enterprise carried the correction, the Schak'Irra carried the original wound; Outta Time carries what comes next.

Its first appearance does not try to impress through combat or a grand maneuver. Instead, it establishes a new, almost empty place where the survivors must accept that their story continues. Herbie, Money Penny, Lingua, T'Met, Tarsi, Agnes, and Angie arrive there with incompatible pasts, but a common mission.

In Book I, Outta Time is therefore not yet a ship fully launched into adventure. It marks the point where the loss of the Schak'Irra Timeline stops being only grief and becomes an investigation.
