After the tragic loss of Delta and Foxtrot units, Agnes's commando took refuge in a vertical shaft leading toward the center of the Kremlin. Pursued by the Tholians, they managed to seal the door behind them, leaving only five survivors: Agnes, Tarsi, Eros, Gomard, and Corporal Lebeau. Without rope or reinforcements, they began their two-hundred-meter descent toward the lower levels, while screams and gunfire echoed through the upper floors overrun by aliens.

TL;DR
At the bottom of the shaft, the squad discovers a room still occupied by Russian militiamen. A lightning infiltration orchestrated by Tarsi neutralizes most of the opponents, but one man escapes her vigilance: Yevgeny Prigozhin, presumed dead since 2023. Captured by Agnes and interrogated, he admits having taken control of the Kremlin after executing those responsible for the nuclear launch, claiming he wanted to prevent the catastrophe. Colonel Gomard remains skeptical, but Tarsi begins examining the command center computers to verify the militia leader's claims, and perhaps reveal the true face of those responsible for the end of the world.
Story
Our unit continues its descent through the shaft.
With every floor we pass, sounds rise up to us: human screams, bursts of submachine-gun fire, and the shrill voices of the Tholians ravaging everything in their path.
When we finally reach the bottom of the shaft, our progress is stopped by a metal grille.
Through the mesh, I can see a vast room crawling with activity.
A dozen humans are busy inside, probably all Russian.
Workers.
Soldiers.
Other individuals harder to identify.
Colonel Gomard and Tarsi ready their phasers.
Next to me, Corporal Lebeau begins unscrewing the grille with calculated slowness.
I make discreet signs to my teammates to designate potential targets... when Tarsi interrupts me.
Cmdr. Tarsi
To stun as many enemies as possible, set your phasers to Pulsewave mode.
If we coordinate properly, four shots will be enough to neutralize the whole area.
Col. Robert Gomard (Army)
All right.
Tarsi, you take the northwest.
Agnes, the northeast.
Vitos, the southwest.
And I will take the southeast.
Ens. Eros Vitos (Weapons Engineer)
Uh... Colonel...
Which way is southwest?
I do not have a compass.
Col. Robert Gomard (Army)
You fire in the opposite direction from Captain Rodriguez.
Ens. Eros Vitos (Weapons Engineer)
And... which direction is the captain firing?
Col. Robert Gomard (Army)
Agnes.
Explain it to him before I lose patience.
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
Vitos, take my tricorder.
You will have a full view of the room and the firing axes.
Robert suddenly narrows his eyes, observing the armed men below more closely.
Col. Robert Gomard (Army)
Look, Agnes.
Those guys do not look like they belong to the regular army.
What do you think?
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
I have never seen those uniforms.
But their crest...
It vaguely reminds me of something.
Col. Robert Gomard (Army)
I know them.
We fought them in Bakhmut last year...
Right before the Zaporizhzhia disaster.
As Corporal Lebeau finishes unscrewing the grille, a screw slips from his fingers and lands noisily on a metal table below.
We all hold our breath.
Below, several heads rise in the same movement.
Eyes turn toward the ceiling.
Before the situation can spiral, Tarsi acts.
Fast as lightning, she leaps onto the grille and drops into the middle of the room with a cry of rage.
The Russians, caught off guard by this sudden appearance, turn toward her.
With a fluid gesture, she aims her phaser and fires once.
Then immediately pivots and fires a second discharge in the opposite direction.
The waves of energy hit the men head-on, throwing them violently against the walls and knocking them out on the spot.
She turns back to the left and fires again.
When only the right-hand area remains to neutralize, she turns around...
And finds herself with a pistol aimed at her forehead.
Yevgeny Prigozhin (Militia Leader)
Heee... comrade.
Are you Grandpa's new mutant hitwoman?
Cmdr. Tarsi
Huh?!
Uh... no.
I am not a mutant!
From the shaft, we watch the scene, powerless.
The man holding Tarsi at gunpoint clearly has not realized we are not alone.
So I make a decision.
I slide down in turn, without a sound, and position myself behind him.
I calmly press my phaser against his head.
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
Raise your arms.
Or you will have a pretty hole in your skull.
Yevgeny Prigozhin (Militia Leader)
Another scoundrel?!
Who are you?!
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
NATO special forces.
I strongly advise you to obey.
Yevgeny Prigozhin (Militia Leader)
Since when do NATO people speak Russian?!
And how did you get here?!
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
I am the one asking questions.
Sit down on that chair.
The man hesitates for a fraction of a second, then slowly obeys.
He sits down, stiff, hands clearly visible, while I keep his head in my sights.
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
Good work, Tarsi.
Cmdr. Tarsi
Thank you, Agnes.
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
Hey, guys...
The way is clear. You can come down.
Yevgeny Prigozhin (Militia Leader)
Uh...
How many of you are there?
Col. Robert Gomard (Army)
Shut your mouth, fat man!
Lebeau, check the accesses and secure them!
Cpl. Lebeau (Army)
Aye, Colonel.
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
Eros, take this bag of zip ties.
Tie up the prisoners.
Start with this nice gentleman.
Yevgeny Prigozhin (Militia Leader)
Now that is a lovely compliment, miss.
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
We told you to shut up.
Cmdr. Tarsi
Agnes...
Something is wrong.
This man is supposed to be dead.
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
What do you mean, dead?
Cmdr. Tarsi
He is Putin's butcher.
Putin had him assassinated in 2023 after a mock coup.
Yevgeny Prigozhin (Militia Leader)
Huh?!
A coup?!
That cheap little godfather, have me killed?!
Ha ha ha!!!
I am the one who will soon have his hide!
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
Shut up!
Col. Robert Gomard (Army)
If this guy had really been dead, we would have known.
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
Robert...
Tarsi is talking about her reality. Not ours.
Cpl. Lebeau (Army)
Colonel, Colonel!
You should come take a look in this room.
Col. Robert Gomard (Army)
I'm coming, Lebeau.
Entering the adjoining room, the colonel discovers a grim reality.
Bodies stacked on top of one another, all executed with a bullet to the head.
Soldiers. Civilians. Senior Russian officers.
It is a horrifying sight.
It becomes obvious that the Kremlin has been the scene of a ruthless purge.
Col. Robert Gomard (Army)
Tell me, fat man...
What is this slaughter?
Did you and your rabble kill them?
Yevgeny Prigozhin (Militia Leader)
Oh yes, little man.
Here, that is how we solve the problem of traitors.
Stop looking at me with your moralizing faces.
You NATO people execute Judases too.
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
Yes.
But they are tried first.
In your eyes, what were their crimes?
Yevgeny Prigozhin (Militia Leader)
Simple.
The destruction of the planet and of my business.
I tried to stop them from launching their nuclear attack last month.
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
The Russian Minister of Defense is in this room.
Was he behind the attack?
Yevgeny Prigozhin (Militia Leader)
Oooh yes, little lady.
Him... and a good part of his own private militia.
It took several days before my men and I retook control of this center.
Col. Robert Gomard (Army)
What proof do you have to support your claims?
Yevgeny Prigozhin (Militia Leader)
Look at the computers.
Everything is recorded.
The orders.
The codes.
The identifiers of the officers who triggered the launch.
Col. Robert Gomard (Army)
And who says you did not falsify that data?
Yevgeny Prigozhin (Militia Leader)
Think what you want.
On July 14, I was still stationed on the Polish front.
That is the day my spies alerted me to the plot.
I then gathered my best men... and marched on Moscow.
Cmdr. Tarsi
I will verify it.
These systems are archaic.
If they have been manipulated, I will know.
And if they are telling the truth... it will be impossible to deny.
