Vladimir 'Joseph' Putin

The Grand Tsar Vladimir 'Joseph' Putin in 2024 - Russian Empire

Vladimir 'Joseph' Putin, known as The Grand Tsar, is the ruler of the Russian Empire in the Schak'Irra Timeline. He does not exactly match the Putin known from the Prime Timeline: his reign, his empire, and his relationship to the events of 1954 belong to a reality altered by temporal contamination.

He embodies one of the most visible drifts of this modified history: an authoritarian, megalomaniacal, and dangerous sovereign whose power rests as much on political terror as on a still unexplained anomaly.

Profile

The Grand Tsar rules through total domination. Imperial prestige, personal cult, terror, humiliation, and constant staging allow him to impose the idea of indestructible power, even when his world begins to collapse.

He presents himself as the last sovereign capable of imposing order on the planet's ruins. Behind that posture lie direct violence, a taste for absolute control, and an ability to turn his enemies, his prisoners, and even his allies into props in his own theater.

Reputation and Perception

In the Schak'Irra Timeline, Putin is perceived as an imperial tyrant even more extreme than the counterpart known to Tarsi. Around himself, he has rebuilt an expansionist, militarized, and almost feudal Russia, where his title of Grand Tsar is not merely decorative.

For NATO, he represents a major strategic threat. For his own supporters, he cultivates the image of an indestructible leader. For Agnes, Tarsi, and Gomard, he becomes above all the human face of a history that should never have taken this shape.

Life Path

In this altered reality, Putin takes power in 1992 after a coup against the Russian government. He uses the political and economic chaos of the post-Cold War period to present himself as a restorer of national greatness before proclaiming himself Grand Tsar.

Over the years, his regime hardens. Political opposition is stifled, independent media are silenced, and the idea of a reconstituted Russian Empire becomes the center of his propaganda. His foreign policy gradually targets former Soviet territories, then expands toward other regions, including Africa, where the establishment of a South Russia marks a new stage of his expansion.

In 2014, the invasion of Ukraine and confrontation with Western powers worsen his regime's isolation. Ukraine becomes a symbol of resistance, while the Russia of The Grand Tsar locks itself into increasingly violent and paranoid imperialism.

Gray Areas

Several pieces of data associated with The Grand Tsar remain classified, particularly around his biological identity and civil status. In Book I, these elements are not explained directly, but some clues make the character abnormal: his behavior differs from the one known in the Prime Timeline, his body seems to react strangely, and his calm after his capture does not match the situation.

At this stage of the story, he is officially treated as a human from the Schak'Irra Timeline. Yet his file retains enough inconsistencies to leave doubt over what he has really become.

After Episode 75 - The Tsar's Lair

Read after Book I - Episode 75.

Agnes, Tarsi, Gomard, and Eros reach Putingrad after crossing the Russian tunnels. In a luxurious and almost theatrical bunker, The Grand Tsar is already waiting for them, surrounded by guards, prisoners from the Schak'Irra, and an unexpected political hostage: Emmanuel Macron.

This scene reveals his method. Putin does not simply hide: he stages his own appearance as a demonstration of power. The bunker, the prisoners, the guards, and the humiliations inflicted on his enemies form an imperial performance meant to remind everyone that, even hunted, he wants to remain at the center of the world.

After Episode 77 - Bloodbath in the Tsar's Lair

Read after Book I - Episode 77.

Facing Tarsi, The Grand Tsar imposes a brutal, almost ceremonial duel. He also reveals the enslavement of T'Met, forced to bring him his weapon and call him my Lord.

The duel becomes a total confrontation. Putin proves surprisingly agile, changes weapons, pushes Tarsi to exhaustion, and triggers murderous chaos when his guards open fire. Emmanuel Macron's intervention makes it possible to neutralize him, but Agnes is gravely wounded while protecting the French president.

The fall of Putingrad therefore does not settle everything. The Grand Tsar is captured, the survivors of the Schak'Irra are freed, but the human cost is immense, and his influence continues to weigh on the rest of the journey.

After Episode 92 - The Taste of Tsarist Perfume

Read after Book I - Episode 92.

When the Enterprise finds itself isolated after the destruction of the lunar starbase, The Grand Tsar remains detained aboard with his guards. Agnes has to deal with his presence even though she no longer has a base where she can deliver him to justice.

His behavior becomes even more disturbing. He suffers from headaches, gives off an unbearable smell, and seems strangely satisfied, claiming that everything is going according to plan. Lingua nevertheless identifies his genetic code as that of Vladimir Putin, which confirms at least a biological continuity between realities.

After Episode 116 - Breaking the Time Loop

Read after Book I - Episode 116.

After the temporal correction, Putin is detained aboard the VSS Schak'Irra. He is very much alive, still provocative, and mysteriously serene, even though the timeline has just been profoundly reorganized.

His silent exchange with T'Met suggests that a more intimate or more dangerous secret remains between them. Tarsi immediately senses that something is escaping her, but Book I does not yet provide all the answers.

Like the survivors of the Enterprise, he then follows the move to the 26th century. His presence, however, is not a matter of welcome or integration: he becomes a sensitive file placed under the control of temporal authorities.

Overall Portrait

Read after the end of Book I.

The Grand Tsar is one of the characters who shows how far the Schak'Irra Timeline has distorted the 21st century. His Russia is not merely more violent: it has become the political expression of a sick history, fed by fear, war, and secrets born in 1954.

His presence blends the grotesque with genuine menace. He can be theatrical, ridiculous, repulsive, or grandiloquent, but he remains dangerous at every stage: imperial ruler, jailer of extraterrestrial survivors, satisfied prisoner, and unresolved anomaly.

At the end of Book I, Putin is not merely a defeated tyrant. Brought back to the 26th century with the other survivors of the corrected line, he remains an open question, tied to T'Met, the Schak'Irra, and the lingering effects of temporal contamination.
