Zaneth-Myra Lysana

Commander Zaneth-Myra Lysana in 2554 - Starfleet - Temporal Division

Zaneth-Myra Lysana is a Starfleet officer connected to VSS Schak'Irra, the Temporal Division, and the most sensitive areas of the Quihoui affair. Her calm, self-control, and knowledge of temporal files make her a discreet but decisive figure at the end of Book I.

Formerly known as Vexoriana-Lyss'ra Tarsi, Lysana is the same person after a divergent temporal path. The decades lived under another identity give her a maturity, caution, and experience that the younger Tarsi does not yet possess.

Behind her apparent calm, Lysana hides a difficult existence shaped by temporal exile, Section 31, clandestine missions, and the responsibility of protecting a secret that concerns her own identity.

Profile

Lysana first gives the impression of an officer who knows exactly where the blind spots of a temporal mission are. She speaks little, observes quickly, and acts with the caution of someone who knows the price of misunderstood corrections.

Her maturity is not only a matter of age or experience. It comes from a life lived outside her initial trajectory, in the margins of Starfleet, Section 31, and a truth she cannot reveal without risking making the paradox she is trying to contain even worse.

Reputation and Perception

Lysana is perceived as a calm, methodical officer who is difficult to destabilize. Her knowledge of sensitive files makes her valuable, but also difficult to read: she has known too much, for too long, to be considered merely an operative.

For Starfleet, she belongs to a gray area between temporal agent, former Section 31 asset, and inconvenient witness to the Schak'Irra affair. For T'Met, she becomes above all the person carrying a truth impossible to state without overturning an entire life.

Life Story

Read after Book I, Episode 116.

Lysana begins her life under the identity of Vexoriana-Lyss'ra Tarsi, in the Prime Timeline. She follows Tarsi's initial path: Starfleet Academy, tactical specialization, service aboard the USS Pioneer, meeting T'Met, then extraction to the 26th century after the destruction of Pioneer during the Battle of Caleb IV.

After being sidelined by Quihoui in 2554, the young Tarsi steals Tal'Kyr to investigate the disappearance of Schak'Irra. In the corrected temporality, the crossing of the vortexes no longer brings her to 1954: she emerges in 2484, isolated from her intended destination and deprived of any simple way to recover her life.

She then adopts the identity of Zaneth-Myra Lysana, settles in San Francisco, and attempts to join Starfleet. Her integration is refused because of the gray areas she deliberately keeps around herself in order to protect her real identity.

Spotted in 2485 by Section 31, which connects her to Tarsi's 23rd-century files, Lysana is recruited for her experience and her knowledge of sensitive events. For nearly 70 years, she infiltrates networks, follows traces of Schak'Irra, and moves toward 2554 while carrying alone the weight of what she knows.

In 2540, she is reinstated in Starfleet under the Lysana identity, with a temporal-agent role connected to Section 31 and placed under Quihoui's supervision. In 2547, a mission tied to Na'kuhl data brings her back to the USS Pioneer, where she crosses paths with Tarsi and T'Met as young ensigns, then takes the initiative to save the doomed crew.

In 2550, Lysana becomes liaison officer for Schak'Irra, under T'Met's command and alongside her younger double, Tarsi. She chooses never to reveal her true identity to Tarsi in order to preserve the continuum. In 2553, when Quihoui removes Tarsi from her position as first officer, Lysana is appointed in her place.

  • Experience as a tactical officer aboard the USS Pioneer.
  • Skills in temporal surveillance, infiltration, and reading sensitive files.
  • Deep knowledge of Schak'Irra, the Temporal Division, and Quihoui's blind spots.
  • Ability to operate under cover identity for long periods.
  • Mastery of clandestine operations involving Section 31.

After Episode 116 - The Lysana Paradox

Read after Book I, Episode 116.

Lysana is revealed as an older version of Vexoriana-Lyss'ra Tarsi. She is born from a temporal incident caused by the crossing between the vortex of Tal'Kyr and the wormhole of Schak'Irra during the 1954 mission.

In the contaminated temporality, Schak'Irra was supposed to be targeted by Tarantula and crash at the North Pole, leaving an opening toward 1954. In the corrected temporality, that outcome no longer exists: the entry point changes, Tarsi never arrives in 1954, and she is projected into 2484.

From there, she does not jump directly to 2554. She stays and lives in that era, adopts the identity of Zaneth-Myra Lysana, and patiently crosses the 70 years separating her from her point of origin. This lived waiting explains the age difference between Tarsi and Lysana.

In the uncorrected temporality, this trajectory ends tragically in the 20th century, in a Russian gulag. Already 100 years old at the time of Schak'Irra's crash, Lysana does not survive long under the conditions of detention, exhaustion, and isolation. She dies beside T'Met, and it is at the moment of that death that she finally reveals the truth about her identity.

After Episode 117 - Return to the 26th Century

Read after Book I, Episode 117.

The return to the 26th century makes the paradox impossible to ignore. Lysana is no longer only an informed officer: she becomes living proof that the temporal correction has produced personal, administrative, and institutional effects that Starfleet cannot neatly classify.

Her presence also sheds light on several files that remained opaque: the Pioneer, Schak'Irra, Tarsi's place in the Temporal Division, and the manipulations of Quihoui. Lysana knows these areas because she has crossed them under another identity.

After Episode 126 - Clandestine Defense

Read after Book I, Episode 126.

Lysana becomes a discreet ally of Tarsi's defense. In the holosuite, then around the clandestine rescue plan, she helps Touit'Air, T'Met, and the survivors of the Enterprise bypass the institutional blocks preventing access to evidence.

Her role is decisive because she acts from inside Schak'Irra: she prepares access to the temporal chamber, neutralizes operational obstacles, and places the ship's Lingua in maintenance so it will not interpret the clandestine operation as an intrusion and trigger an alert.

After Episode 129 - T'Met Versus T'Met

Read after Book I, Episode 129.

The confrontation between the two T'Mets places Lysana in a delicate position. She belongs to a line of continuity that already knows the weight of doubles, displaced identities, and existences impossible to explain in a simple mission report.

At this stage, Lysana functions as a silent witness to the human cost of temporal corrections. Her story reminds us that repairing a line does not mean restoring every life to its original form.

Overall Portrait

Read after the end of Book I.

Lysana is not merely an older version of Tarsi. She is what Tarsi becomes when a temporal correction deprives her of her arrival in 1954 and forces her to live 70 years in an era that was not her own. That waiting transforms her initial temperament into strategic patience, caution, and mastery of secrecy.

Her path explains her weight in the Schak'Irra affair. She knows Tarsi because she was her, T'Met because she served beside her across several forms of continuity, Quihoui because she worked under her authority, and Schak'Irra because it became the center of both her official and clandestine life.

In the uncorrected temporality, her story ends in a Russian gulag, beside T'Met, after a detention that her advanced age makes almost impossible to survive. In the corrected temporality, she returns to the 26th century with the survivors and becomes one of the human keys to the paradox: proof that a correction can save a line while creating an entire life impossible to reduce to a mere accident.
