Counsel Touit'Air's plea turned the court around: Lingua's data proved Admiral Quihoui had sabotaged VSS Schak'Irra's original mission. Exposed and cornered, Quihoui fled before the tribunal, triggering a hellish chase through San Francisco. Aboard the Ducati Money Penny, Agnes and T'Met raced through the city to the top of the Golden Gate, where T'Met faced the admiral in person. But before vanishing in a transporter flash, Quihoui dropped one word that still echoes: "Mother".

TL;DR

On the Golden Gate, T'Met remains frozen, shaken by Quihoui's revelation. As Money Penny breathes her last digital breath, a Starfleet Security shuttle retrieves them and brings them back to the San Francisco tribunal, now buzzing with media attention. Before the JAG, President Jora Tannel orders Tarsi's release and Quihoui's official removal, declaring her a fugitive. The new head of the Temporal Division, Admiral Censsukr', awards T'Met and Tarsi the Christopher Pike Medal and gives them a new mission: integrate the 21st-century survivors of Enterprise into this new era.

Story

The top of the Golden Gate tower is a silent theater, swept by howling winds and overlooking the vastness of San Francisco Bay. At this height, every movement seems calculated, every breath measured. T'Met, kneeling before the void, is lost in silent meditation, lips firmly sealed, gaze distant. Quihoui's words still echo: "Mother". It is a revelation as unexpected as it is disturbing, but I know no answer will rise from this wind-scoured summit.

The tribunal is waiting for us, Tarsi is counting on us, and every second spent here is only wasted time. I climb onto my Ducati, ready to plunge into the dizzying descent of the bridge. But Money Penny, the loyal MI6 AI integrated into my motorcycle, has gone still. The engine has shut down, the lights have dimmed, and a nearly trembling digital voice delivers its final verdict: no power. Then nothing. Silence. Money Penny has gone out, definitively. I place a hand on the handlebars, an almost affectionate gesture, and silently thank that machine for its devotion down to its last bit of data.

Then a deep rumble breaks the silence at the summit. A Starfleet shuttle, massive and imposing, stabilizes above us. Its headlights slice through the fog like sharp blades, and a transporter beam activates, bathing T'Met and me in blinding bluish light. In an instant, the wind, the cold, and the vertigo are gone. The cold steel of the tower has given way to a smooth, silent surface. We are somewhere else.

Agent In'kognytoh (Starfleet Security)

Welcome aboard my shuttle, Captain T'Met and you... uh... if I remember correctly, your first name is Jennifer Lopez.

Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez

Agnes Rodriguez.

Agent In'kognytoh (Starfleet Security)

Pardon?

Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez

I am Captain Agnes Valentine Rodriguez of NATO's Special Fleet, in 2024.

Agent In'kognytoh (Starfleet Security)

Uh, yes, that is indeed what my pad says. Anyway, whatever your name is. Captain T'Met, the JAG ordered me to bring you back, along with Admiral Quihoui. Speaking of which, where is she?

Capt. T'Met

Admiral Quihoui vanished. Before that, she revealed she was behind the Schak'Irra Affair. It is imperative that we return immediately to the tribunal to inform the JAG and argue for the release of Commander Tarsi, who is being unjustly held.

Agent In'kognytoh (Starfleet Security)

The JAG probably already knows. The chase was broadcast live across the galaxy by FNN.

As the shuttle begins its descent toward the San Francisco tribunal, T'Met and Agent In'kognytoh continue their exchange in a tense atmosphere. The city lights slide beneath our feet, and the shadow of recent events weighs heavily on each of us.

When we arrive, the shuttle lands precisely on the tribunal platform. The doors open onto a deafening clamor. A huge crowd of civilians, Starfleet officers, and journalists cheers our return. We cross the crowded corridors and finally enter the great courtroom, where calm gradually returns.

The JAG President, Admiral Jora Tannel, strikes her gavel firmly.

Adm. Jora Tannel (JAG President)

Commander Vexoriana Lyss'ra Tarsi, please rise.

Tarsi rises with dignity and steps to the defendant's lectern, where she stands straight.

Adm. Jora Tannel (JAG President)

In light of the evidence presented by Counsel Touit'Air's defense and following the events that just occurred with Admiral Quihoui's flight, the court has decided to dismiss the case and release you with immediate effect.

A wave of applause erupts in the room. Angie and my officers' faces light up with relief and pride. Tarsi tries to say a few words, but her voice is drowned out by the tumult.

Adm. Jora Tannel (JAG President)

Silence, please! Thank you. However, the Schak'Irra Affair is not closed. This tribunal will continue investigating the reasons that led Admiral Quihoui to violate a hundred articles of Starfleet regulations. Commander Tarsi, we ask you to remain at the investigators' disposal.

Cmdr. Vexoriana-Lyss'ra Tarsi

I will be glad to contribute, Madam President.

Adm. Jora Tannel (JAG President)

Admiral Quihoui, having disappeared and being directly involved in this affair, will be the subject of an arrest warrant in the coming hours. In the meantime, the Temporal Division must be placed under competent leadership. Admiral Censsukr' will take over. Admiral, the floor is yours.

Admiral Censsukr' rises slowly, her imposing stature and Caitian voice imposing silence.

Adm. Censsukr' (JAG Member)

Thank you, Madam President. It is an honor. As the new head of the Temporal Division, I commit to actively cooperating with the investigators to shed full light on this affair. The victims of Admiral Quihoui's actions will be cared for by the Division and reintegrated into our society with dignity. Captain T'Met, Commander Tarsi, please step forward.

T'Met and Tarsi step into the center of the tribunal.

Adm. Censsukr' (JAG Member)

Following the courage and determination you showed during this crisis, the court has decided to award each of you the Christopher Pike Medal for heroic action.

The room explodes in a sincere ovation. Applause echoes against the tribunal walls while the two officers stand motionless, straight-backed, eyes fixed on Admiral Censsukr'. A mutual respect passes between their gazes.

Adm. Censsukr' (JAG Member)

However, no reward could ever be enough given the scale of your actions. Although I have neither ship nor crew to place at your disposal for the time being, I officially entrust you with the 21st-century survivors of NATO's USS Enterprise. As former temporal refugees, you have unique experience to guide and restructure this group effectively.

Cmdr. Vexoriana-Lyss'ra Tarsi

Great. Did you hear that, T'Met? We're going to work together again.

Capt. T'Met

Thank you, Admiral Censsukr'. This task had already been entrusted to me by Admiral Quihoui, but receiving this order directly from you is a true honor. And having Commander Tarsi at my side only strengthens my determination to carry out this mission with a certain sensitivity.

Adm. Censsukr' (JAG Member)

No false human flattery with me, Captain T'Met. The Temporal Division requires pragmatism and efficiency, nothing more. We will meet again in a few weeks to discuss your future within our division in more detail.

Admiral Jora Tannel straightens slightly and strikes her gavel, the sound echoing through the room's restored silence.

Adm. Jora Tannel (JAG President)

This session is adjourned.

The tribunal's massive doors open as murmurs and applause resume. T'Met and Tarsi exchange one last complicit look before joining Counsel Touit'Air and my officers, who are impatiently waiting to leave and celebrate this victory.
