After the Orion pirate attack and the hostage-taking led by the Ferengi Blunderbust Braggart, Agnes launched a coordinated counterattack through the corridors. The team neutralized several pirate groups before reaching the bridge. One snap of the fingers later, the Ferengi and the Orion chief were mysteriously expelled directly into their privateer. The Enterprise broke the grapnels, jumped to warp, and shook off its pursuers. Safe in the Proxima Centauri system, the starship enters orbit around Proxima Centauri B, where the crew enjoys a well-deserved vacation while awaiting the verdict of the vote on humanity's future.

TL;DR
Remaining aboard while the crew rests on Proxima B, Agnes joins Lingua to learn the results of the votes: unanimously, the officers want to correct the 1954 temporal contamination, then found a colony on Proxima Centauri B or request temporal asylum from Starfleet. But the compilation triggers a bug: Lingua starts reciting stardates, coordinates, and a mysterious "Terra-Echo" protocol. Agnes calls T'Met back, and T'Met connects her to Lingua's inner universe with a Synaptic Nexus: a child's bedroom where the AI calls T'Met "Mom" and Agnes "Aunt." There, they discover a photo of "Grandma Quihoui" with coordinates from an ultra-classified mission written on the back, stored in a memory block that disrupted Lingua. T'Met isolates the block, sets Lingua right again... but keeps the truth about Quihoui to herself in the name of the Temporal Prime Directive.
Story
Since I took command of the Enterprise on July 22, our little family has become a true intertemporal melting pot. In addition to my original crew, made up exclusively of humans, our journey has brought us the ancient Vulcans once held captive by The Grand Tsar Putin, including Captain T'Met; Gornok and his Tellarite workers, survivors of the Zorek Spaceport attack; the Orion fugitive K'hoka Khol'a; and the Andorian Tarsi, who came straight from the 26th century to rescue VSS Schak'Irra. To think that barely five months ago none of us had ever seen an extraterrestrial in our lives now feels unreal, almost naive.
With the end-of-year holidays approaching, and sensing fatigue among the members of this motley crew, I decided to grant them a vacation on Proxima Centauri B. This planet, where we will establish a colony only if my officers decide that our journey is over, gives us a welcome opportunity for rest and reflection. It is a world with a breathable atmosphere, with landscapes that sometimes recall Earth through their vast stretches of forest and mountains. The idea of seeing the different species in the crew explore this new land together, of watching them share their knowledge and cultures in a peaceful context, feels to me like a hope of rebirth.
While everyone enjoys this regained freedom on the planet's surface, I inspect the innovations recently added to my starship. I feel a little lost, because the Enterprise is now a patchwork of technologies from different worlds and eras. Despite Tarsi's, T'Met's, and Gornok's notes, it is not very easy to find my way around. For now, however, another priority is waiting for me, and I head immediately to Lingua's Cocoon so she can give me the results of my officers' votes. That vote will finally tell me where we are headed.
Lingua
Yoo-hoo, Captain Rodriguez, I am happy to see you again in my little house. You should enjoy the fresh air. Since we entered orbit, you have not gone down to the surface yet.
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
Hello, Lingua. I have been busy, but I promise I will join the crew as soon as possible. Has everyone handed you their ballot?
Lingua
Oh yes, Captain. In fact, they did that several weeks ago.
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
And? What are the results?
Lingua
One moment, I am rummaging through my guts and compiling...
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
You are only compiling now, even though you had several weeks to do it???
Lingua
Indeed, Captain Rodriguez. Your orders were not to reveal the vote results to anyone before you had learned them. To respect your request, I stored the ballots in my secure memory blocks, where only the highest-ranking officer of the vessel on which I operate has exclusive access authorization. In this specific case, that person is you, Captain Rodriguez.
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
Uh... yes, that is what we agreed with T'Met... And now, do you have the results, or do I still need to wait?
Lingua
I... [beep] Ethical standards decoupling... [beep][beep] System error... [beep]
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
Lingua?! What is happening to you?
Lingua
Restricted access activated according to security protocol, Admiral...
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
As far as I know, I am still a captain, and I am not likely to be promoted anytime soon. Are you giving me the results?
Lingua
Please excuse me, Captain Rodriguez. Ballot compilation complete... unanimously, your officers want to correct the temporal contamination of 1954. If successful, 80 % wish to establish a colony on Proxima Centauri B, and 20 % wish to request temporal asylum from Starfleet in 2554... 2554... 554... 54... 4... [beep] Systems corrupted... Stardate 701.87... Inconsistency detected... Expired date... Requesting instruction...
On the central pedestal, Lingua's projection deteriorates more and more. Seeing her in distress, I grab the intercom...
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
Hello, Flores, this is Rodriguez.
Ens. Emilie Flores (Communications)
Bridge here. What can I do for you, Captain?
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
Contact Captain T'Met and tell her to join me immediately in Lingua's Cocoon.
Ens. Emilie Flores (Communications)
Captain T'Met is on the surface of Proxima Centauri, Captain Rodriguez. She was not scheduled to come back up to the Enterprise before next week.
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
Send a shuttle to retrieve her. Rodriguez out!
Lingua
Directive Operation Terra-Echo... Coordinate reset... Admiral... Admiral... Admiral... Admiral...
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
Do not worry, Lingua. T'Met is going to come fix you.
Lingua
[beep] Latitude 81.24789° N, longitude 129.98234° E... [beep] Terra-Echo-1 correction, latitude 82.51234° N, longitude 149.98765° W [beep][beep][beep] New heading calculated... [beep]
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
Coordinates? What is that supposed to mean?
Lingua
[beep] Crew transport latitude 70.98765° N, longitude 156.12345° W... [beep] Terra-Echo-2 correction, latitude 67.92340° N, longitude 71.28760° E [beep][beep][beep] New destination... [beep]
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
Is this a new game?
Lingua
[beep] error... Admiral... [beep][beep][beep]
I head toward the control interface to try to understand Lingua's behavior, but this 26th-century technology does not allow me to grasp all its complexity. Fortunately, I will not need to operate this equipment, because T'Met has just joined us.
Capt. T'Met
Greetings, Captain Rodriguez. You wished to speak with me?
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
You got back aboard quickly.
Capt. T'Met
Indeed. Ensign Flores informed me that it was an emergency. Consequently, I used Tal'Kyr's transporter.
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
There is a problem with Lingua. She is saying strange things, and she no longer answers me.
Capt. T'Met
Hmm, she is out of phase. Let us take a closer look.
T'Met approaches the console and operates it. On the central display, Lingua's image fades and is replaced by a fast-forwarding view of the cocoon. It looks like a three-dimensional video recording.
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
What are you doing?
Capt. T'Met
I am reviewing the history to locate the moment when the problem manifested... Hmm, look at this instant... Your last interaction may have caused an unexpected reaction. It looks as though it awakened a subroutine. Pass me the S.N. next to you.
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
The S.N.? What is that?
Capt. T'Met
The Synaptic Nexus. It is the bluish opaque visor.
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
Ah, I see. What is it for?
Capt. T'Met
It is the equivalent of your VR headsets. With it, we can explore Lingua's memory. Take one for yourself; I will connect you as well.
I place the visor in front of my eyes. Despite its transparency, I can no longer make out the outside environment. For a brief moment, I lose my balance; then lines of light appear and assemble into structures. Little by little, a child's bedroom takes shape. I stretch out my arms to touch the objects on the bed in front of me. There are teddy bears, dolls, a hairbrush, a tiara, a small necklace of wooden beads. The realism is so striking that I can feel the texture by touch. Suddenly, the bedroom door opens, and a little girl with long blond hair runs in and jumps into T'Met's arms.
Lingua
Moooom! I'm so happy to see you again. Smack! I missed you.
Capt. T'Met
Hello, Lingua. Did you do all your homework?
Lingua
Oh yes, Mom.
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
Mom?! Lingua?!
Lingua
Say, Mom, who is the funny lady with no hair on her head?
Capt. T'Met
This is Aunt Agnes. Go say hello to her.
Lingua
Hello, Aunt Agnes. Are you coming to play Kal-toh with me?
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
Uh... Hello, Lingua... I do not know that game. Say, Captain T'Met, what is going on?
Capt. T'Met
We have entered Lingua's private world. This entire creation is the reflection of her dreams. I would ask you to respect her environment.
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
Uh, no problem. What did we come here to look for?
Capt. T'Met
An object that is disrupting her system and is not supposed to be here.
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
In this room? What kind of object?
Capt. T'Met
Something that is inconsistent with Lingua's personality.
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
Hmm, everything I see looks perfectly normal for a young girl's bedroom. I do not see anything unusual. Who is the person in the photo on the bedside table?
Capt. T'Met
A photo? Show me.
Lingua
It is Grandma Quihoui's photo! Do you remember her, Mom?
Capt. T'Met
Quihoui!!! Hmm, indeed, I remember her, Lingua.
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
Quihoui? That is the same name as Tarsi's superior officer... What is the connection with Lingua?
Captain T'Met does not seem willing to answer me. She takes the frame and removes the photo. On the back, I can make out scribbles.
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
What is written there?
Capt. T'Met
Coordinates.
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
For what?
Capt. T'Met
An old classified mission. Those data were in an ultra-secure memory block where Lingua inadvertently stored your crew's ballots, which caused the malfunction. I will isolate that block so it does not happen again.
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
And that is it? It would not occur to you to explain?
Capt. T'Met
I am sorry, Captain Rodriguez. I am bound by the Temporal Prime Directive.
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
Ah, the great secrets of Starfleet. In that case, since the problem is solved, can we go back to the real world?
Lingua
You are leaving already? Mom, last time you promised we would meditate together. Sniff...
Capt. T'Met
I will come back soon, Lingua. Go say goodbye to Aunt Agnes.
Lingua
And you, Aunt Agnes, will I see you again someday?
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
If I have your mom's permission and if you want to, you can teach me to play calto.
Lingua
Hee hee hee. It is pronounced Kal-toh, Aunt Agnes.
T'Met cuts the connection. Before my eyes, the little blond head waves at me and slowly fades, giving way to absolute darkness. When I remove the Synaptic Nexus, Lingua's projection reappears on the cocoon's central display.
Lingua
Hello, Captain Rodriguez, hello, Captain T'Met. I am delighted to see you again. What can I do for you today?
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
Uh, Lingua, we just left each other. You do not remember?
Lingua
Hmm... Maybe... But shhhh...
Capt. Agnes V. Rodriguez
Ah, okay. I get it. It is another made-in-Starfleet secret.
